Case study

From a tired Elementor site to a calm rebuild — overnight.

Dominik Orfanus is a Professional EOS Implementer®. His old site was a heavy WordPress + Elementor build that loaded 11 MB across 131 requests on mobile, with a 20-second LCP. We sent design direction in the evening and a clickable prototype was live the next day before lunch — Performance score 62 to 100, page weight down 50×.

The brief

One image. No moodboard. No meeting.

What we sent at 21:13 on the evening before we started building.

Single design-direction image with hero composition, type, and color cues for the new Orfanus site.
Before and after

How we worked

Evening to midday. That is the whole timeline.

Aloha Smile is productized. We do not run discovery workshops or send moodboards. The brief is one image, the build runs in one focused stretch, and the prototype is live before the client has time to second-guess the direction.

  1. Evening, day 0

    Design direction goes out

One image: hero composition, type, color cues. No deck. No questions. The client can react in five minutes if anything is off.

  2. Morning, day 1

    Heads-down build

Astro project scaffolded, content ported from the old site, components built to match the direction, dark mode, EN + SK i18n, video modals, Calendly, Pages CMS schema, Cloudflare Pages deploy.

  3. Midday, day 1

    Clickable prototype is live

Real URL, real device. The client clicks through it from their phone over lunch. From here it is a content review — never a redesign cycle.

PageSpeed Insights

The numbers behind the calmer feel.

Lighthouse 12, mobile run, both URLs measured on the same machine on 2026-04-29 against the live production deploy. The most dramatic shifts are LCP, page weight, and request count — the things you actually feel on a slow phone.

What ships

Not just a redesign — a real working site.

  • Astro 6, deployed on Cloudflare Pages from a GitHub Actions workflow.
  • Two languages — English and Slovak — with proper hreflang and a single-click switcher.
  • Dark mode toggle that respects the system preference and remembers the user's choice.
  • Pages CMS schema so the client can edit any section through a Git-backed form, no developer needed.
  • Video modal for the EOS explainer and 8 testimonials. Click-to-play with a custom poster — zero autoplay weight.
  • Calendly booking modal triggered from any CTA, no third-party widget on initial paint.
  • Full SEO meta, JSON-LD, sitemap.xml, OG and Twitter cards.
  • 11 MB → 0.2 MB on mobile. 131 → 11 requests. LCP from 20 seconds to 1.3 seconds.
